About me

In a confidential therapeutic setting, we look together at how your experiences, thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour connect. The aim is to open up new perspectives and to carry change into everyday life, one step at a time.

Henning Finck, Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie

Background

For some thirty years I have worked with people across a range of professional settings. Experience in business, in politics and in media training still shapes how I look at people, at the patterns they fall into, and at the strain that comes with carrying responsibility at work and in private life.

In 2025 I completed a year-long training in hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy with Sven Trepte (MSc), carrying out around 100 supervised hypnosis sessions along the way. I continue to work under his regular supervision.

I prepared for the examination by the public health authority at the Grüne Schule in Hamburg. On 26 June 2026 I was granted the licence to practise healthcare in the field of psychotherapy.

Since January 2026 I have also worked once a week at DO IT, the adaption unit run by Therapiehilfe gGmbH — the stage of addiction rehabilitation in which people rebuild everyday life.

I volunteer in an advisory capacity for the political representation of my professional associations.

How I work

Therapeutic hypnosis is central to my work. It opens a route to unconscious processes and can help you see learned patterns from a different angle. Alongside it I draw on cognitive behavioural therapy, so that new insights can be understood consciously and put to lasting use.

Responsibility at work, a personal crisis or an upheaval you did not choose can bring you to a point where the strategies that always worked no longer do. Thoughts circle the same ground. Decisions become harder. Tension builds, sleep suffers, and the sense that you simply have to keep functioning grows heavier.

At moments like these, therapeutic support can help you gain some distance, understand how things fit together, and look again at what the next step might be.

By prior arrangement, I am available outside regular practice hours for clients in particularly demanding situations.
